west coast contact improvisation JAM
Karen Nelson
Intensive Co-Teacher
Intensive Description
A rite of arrival, a flow of listening, voice, call + response; of Tuning Scores sensory awareness and composing thru a Contact Improvisation portal; dancing muscle resistance and release, soft landings, reciprocity; sharing an intimate physical conversation of trust, learning boundaries and edges of our own and our partners' access needs and dancing desires, delicious consent.
Here, we could extend beyond horizons, deepen unseen currents, wind-up spiraling mountain tops while being in dance with each other, inhabiting collective fluid body-mind-spirit, present moment spaces, inviting solidarity into the room. Solids and liquids, stillness and action, fires in bellies, suspended in air. Grounding, trusting earth, and riding waves. What revolution does the body want to dance?
