Class Description: "Reach...Connect...Dance"

This class is an invitation to investigate, experiment and immerse your body and soul into the basic elements of Contact Improvisation.  Sprinkled with the tone and ethics of the form; this class will be your new lens in reaching and connecting with others on the dance floor feeling self-assured, protected and safe.  If you are new to the form and this is your first time at our jam; this class will provide you with a sense of ease and comfort in a jam environment.

Balance, core and unbalance will aid us in finding the frame. Playing with gravity, force, and mass we will create a magical canvas. We will visit the architecture of the body as we move in concert with each other in a safe space.

My approach to Contact Improvisation is based on modern dance and imagery work, combined with the healing aspects inherent in the form. In addition inclusivity and respect for all is a key ingredient in my teaching approach. We all have the right to share our own stories with our movement.
